Academic Boards

To ensure the highest quality scholarly contributions, CEJISS maintains a two-tiered ‘blind’ peer-review approach, with two main academic boards: the International Advisory Board (IAB) and the Editorial Board (EB).
The IAB is responsible for evaluating the quality of a contribution prior to its submission to the EB. Each incoming contribution is forwarded to a ‘blind’ reader from the IAB who examines the content and research of the contribution without making any editorial corrections. Upon completion, the member of the IAB recommends (to the Editor in Chief) whether or not a contribution fulfils the criteria for publication. If it does, the Editor in Chief then forwards the article, along with the comments from the IAB member, to two members of the EB. On the advice of the IAB, CEJISS weighs whether or not to submit a contribution to the EB and ultimately to accept or reject a contribution from publication. At present the IAB consists of 12 members from 9 different academic or international institutions. Each member is selected for their expertise on the variety of topics covered by CEJISS.
The EB is charged with reading (blindly) incoming contributions, and editing them so that a contribution fits with the standards of CEJISS. After receiving a contribution and the comment sheet from the IAB, members of the EB meticulously examine the text of the contribution to ensure the style and structure of the work is of the highest quality, making all necessary changes in ‘track-change’ format, so that the Editor in Chief may review areas of concern raised by the EB. Upon completion of the editorial process, contributions are forwarded to the Editor in Chief for a final read and decision.
The IAB and the EB are composed of specialists in the general fields of International Relations, European and International Security. If you are interested in becoming a member of either board please forward an up-dated copy of your CV to the Head of the Academic Activities Department Nigorakhon Turakhanova at: turakhanova@cejiss.org
